Title
Frostholme Mill, Cornholme.
Identifier
MOT00184
Description
The main Weaving shed at Frostholme.. During the Second World War the large shed was commandeered by the M. O. D. for the storage of shell casing. Production continued in the smaller shed with the weaving of high quality cloth for barrage balloons, consequently all the operatives were exempted from service. The photograph shows No. 1 shed after completed reconstruction in the late 1940s. The same space is now used to house modern hi-tech machinery for the manufacture of office furniture.
