Description
In the foreground is the Moderna factory and above on the right Calder High School which opened in 1950. The new housing estate of pre-fabricated Airey houses to the left of centre is the extension to the area known as Banksfields (Victorian terrace housing). These homes were built to help with the post-war housing crisis and were assembled on site.
