Description
This is an early sketch dated 1873 of Nutclough Mill in Hebden Bridge, one of the very early cooperatives set up in the 19th century to manufacture cloth and then produce clothing.The mill has been expanded over the years and was taken over by the Wholesale Cooperative Society before ceasing to operate in the late 20th century. It then became the premises of Calrec, a Hebden Bridge electronics firm which became world leaders in its specialist area.
