Description
Slide 3 – Above the entrance door to the saloon is the date 1674 and the Goodricke cipher. Surmounting the whole is a shield bearing the Goodricks arms empaling legge, but this has now decayed through age. ——– John Trevor Ward has provided the following information: You say that this entrance has decayed.’ I worked on the entrance in about 1962—-1964 replacing the columns. I was an apprentice at the time working for Michael Booth & Sons, Bradford. The stone came from Bolton Woods Quarry.
