Todmorden Town Hall

The Taplin Water Fountain was installed in memory of Rev Lindsay Taplin who was a prominent and “outspoken” Unitarian minister based at the Todmorden Unitarian Church in the late 19th century. He is remembered for his dedicated service to the community, particularly during the Cotton Famine of the 1860s and his assistance during a contagious disease outbreak in Longfield in the 1880s.
