Title
Wesleyan Chapel, Heptonstall
Identifier
ALC04781
Description
The foundation stone of this octagonal Chapel was laid by John Wesley. In the building of this chapel, erected in 1764, there appears to have been almost an element of romance; women and men, coming even from a distance and bringing their daily food, assisted in the erection; and when the roof was brought from Rotherham great numbers assembled to hail the arrival.
